Express Entry 

Express Entry is the system developed by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) to select candidates based on their skills, qualifications and experience to make them eligible to application for Permanent Resident in Canada.

Express Entry is cover for three Immigration Program, which are listed as below

• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Worker
• Federal Skilled Trade

Process of Express Entry Program

It is a two-step online process based on a ranking system.

To qualify under Express Entry stream, first, the candidate has to create an online profile and enter the pool to compete with other candidates. Then, the system performs an assessment based on candidate’s marital status, age, education, work experience, language skills and other factors.

Once the express entry profile is created, the system generates score based on the information provided. The scores can be increased by either the applicant has a Canadian Education or Canadian Experience or a valid job offer from a Canadian employer or by improving their language skills.

The express entry draw happens twice a month where it declares the lowest cut-off for express entry.

The candidates with higher score receive the Invitation To Apply (ITA) for the permanent resident status by IRCC. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) has a maximum of 1200 points.

Once the invitation letter is issued, the candidate has 60 days to apply for their permanent resident status to IRCC. Usually, the processing time is 4-6 months.
